Factory Butte portrait

ONE THOUSAND FEET straight up out of the badlands! This is "The Big Bad Grandad" of Utah - Factory Butte. I'll post a wide angle in the comments. This guy is so immense, poor Felix the Flying Camera had to back up two miles just to fit it in the frame! You can see Factory Butte from the highway between Hanksville and Capital Reef National Park. As desolate as it may look, life abounds here and the wildflowers and blooming cacti in spring are something to behold.
