What a magical place! This mysterious monolith is completely surrounded by rock cliffs -- like a Roman Colosseum built just to protect it. You don't even know it's there until you're right on top of it. I drove around in the desert near Hanksville for hours trying to find it, and finally! Voila! The BLM has closed this off to vehicles; so you have to walk the last 1/2 mile or so and you'll need a high-clearance vehicle to get even that close.
